Roger Carter

Roger Carter is the Managing Director of Carter Construction (Derby) Ltd, where he joined his father, Geoff Carter, after completing an Honours Degree in Building Services Engineering at Liverpool University, in 1985. Initially as Contracts Manager, but MD since 1995, and sole in charge since 2003.

During this time, Carter Construction have completed many and varied projects, from Housing Estates to large Industrial Units, Sports, Leisure and Retail Contracts, and many Schools Projects. During this time, they have regularly employed many apprentices of all trades, many of whom are still with, or have returned to, the Company. Education and Training has always been a significant part of Roger's career, and he is proud to have given so many young people a 1st Opportunity in Construction.

Roger is married to Julie, with two daughters and is very aware of the need to support and encourage education, across the whole spectrum.

Roger was Chairman at Belper Hockey for many years, helping the Men’s Club to achieve Premier League status in the English National League. Currently not playing, he is a Level 2 Umpire for the Midlands Region
