We have established a suite of six Employability Benchmarks that set out how academies within our Trust ensure that:
We provide a detailed set of criteria at ‘bronze’, ‘silver’ and ‘gold’ levels to support ongoing progression towards excellence in each benchmark.
At David Nieper Academy, for example, employability and knowledge of work is embedded throughout the curriculum, with students enjoying lots of opportunities to interact with employers and the world of work.

We are now working with our primary staff to develop similar employability opportunities for younger students, such as enhancing our popular Year 2 and Year 5 Enterprise Days, and focusing on new ways to develop skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and presentation.
Our employer partners are increasingly involved in Academy life through, for example, our Enterprise Week, special challenges such as the Denby Pottery Challenge, and through careers events such as interview skills training.
